We had the same problem so switched back to ODBC drivers. Performance is
still mediocre (it's a Spectra site) but it's a 100% improvement over what
we had before. We were seeing some mind boggling performance differences
between point versions of the Oracle drivers which was quite disconcerting.
I have a question regarding the use of oracle native drivers with oracle 8i and cf 5.
We have a user account set up for coldfusion that allows 50 connections.
However at any given time even under extreme load only one connection is actively
doing anything in oracle. The other
connections just sit
