Cfmail via SSL wont work on Windows but on Linux you can get around it using
Stunnel

I've found some Java Classes that will allow this, but I can't find the

There is stunnel for windows
I use it to collect mail from gmail into exchange. gmail requires ssl
stunnel makes a transparent proxy so I can't see why cf couldn't use
it just fine
