Need Visa copy with LinkedIn URL *DevOps Engineer * *Englewood, CO- 80112* *Long Term* *Job Summary* This individual will have an “Automate everything” mindset and be part of *a DevOps engineering* team responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting software enhancements and fixes to a large application. The team also owns the operational support of this application. The application is a critical, Tier 1 application, and is used 24/7. This resource will work directly with business partners and other technical team members. The team delivers software following an Agile development methodology. The ideal candidate will have a *strong Unix background, Java troubleshooting skills, experience* *troubleshooting distributed systems*, and a willingness to continuously learn. This resource will perform activities such as system administrator tasks, configure and maintain application infrastructure, write scripts in order to improve automation, and analyze application level monitoring tools, just to name a few. *Responsibilities/Job Duties:* - Help build and maintain environments (Dev, Test, Stage, Prod) - Participate in on-call rotation - Write and manage cron jobs for a large application - Read and analyze application level synthetic monitoring - Use monitoring tools like *Sensu, App Dynamics, Grafana* - Develop and execute load, stress, capacity, and longevity testing of systems - Assist with improving and maintaining *automated build environment, Jenkins, Maven or Ant* - Troubleshooting physical hosts to analyze performance - Assisting with system level maintenance & patches - Ensure that tasks are being completed in timely manner with limited direction - Participate in team meetings to discuss approaches to current projects · Responsible for maintaining documentation of policies and procedures for various tasks related to the operation of the environments · Assist engineering team members in the identification and resolution of software/platform related issues - Comply with all established procedures and policies of Comcast *Technologies & Tools used in OSS Tools:* · Linux, Unix, *DNS, TCP/IP, IPv6*, iptables, CentOS, RPM, scripting, perl, shell, python, HTTP, httpd, apache, tomcat, networking, load balancing, F5, distributed systems, kernel, performance tuning, hadoop, nosql, memcached, message bus, splunk, puppet, chef, zookeeper, Jenkins, nexus, Artifactory, git, svn, maven, gradle, App Dynamics, Sensu *Minimum Requirements* - BS in Computer Science or equivalent - 5+ years of experience with System Administration work - 1 – 2 years of experience with configuring *Hbase and Zookeeper* - 1 - 2 years of experience *Unix and Unix shell scripting* - 1 – 2 years working with Monitoring tools such as Nagios · Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting the Unix/Linux operating system, Internet-based applications, and web servers. · Scripting experience in actively writing/modifying code to improve monitoring and *automation (Perl, Python, Shell, etc).* - Strong experience with storage, load balancing, and other technologies in a high volume, high transaction environment. - Experience with high transaction volumes, high data through put - Strong problem solving skills - Works well in a team environment - Excellent written and verbal communications skills - Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution - Comfortable working in a fast paced agile environment.
