Understand ETL process in place and business rules implemented for data movement. Design best ways to compare source and target data (either by importing them in common mode like database or excel files if volumes are small) Evaluate usage of ETL test automation tool for specific customer situation and decide on ETL testing strategy that may include Manual and Automation testing while suggesting timelines. Design test scenarios to test business transformation rules and ensure test cases cover various combinations.
