Volunteers needed to
work on playground at stadium site
Organizers of a giant playground being constructed this week
on the grounds of the former Memorial Stadium are looking for skilled
volunteers to help.
The project has attracted thousands of helpers, but organizers
said they can use more carpenters and people who are able to safely
operate power tools, said spokeswoman Stacey Mink. Work is being done
on the site - at Stadium Place next to the Harry & Jeanette
Weinberg YMCA, 900 E. 33rd St. - from 8 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. daily.
When completed, the playground will include swings, a castle, a
volcano, picnic tables, an oversized crab, multiple slides and a
pavilion.
Call 410-274-1671.
