Hi,
On clean-installing Windows 2000, and re-installing Freenet, I found that
the 0.3.9.1 and 0.3.9.1-1 installations don't work.
In particular, I see a dialog saying 'Could not find main class'.
Ths only way I've been able to get Freenet running has been to install
0.3.8, then drop the jarfile

Subject: [freenet-chat] Legal responsibility and filtering
Hi all,
I'm learning to program and thinking of using Freenet as a back-up
resource
in a project I'm
Good. So if write a utility to search for *.mp3, *.mpg and *.zip files in
the Freenet directory it will come up with precisely nothing? Ever?
Because, if that's the case, I need have no concerns about an overhelpful
colleague sharing the contents of that directory with HR ;-)
Is it me or is Freenet very slow? And many of the keys don't work. Lots of
404s.
Is this performance a Java issue? Or is it the nature of
encrypting/decrypting?

I found a bug already, see:
http://beta.freegle.org/phorum/read.php?f=1i=4t=3
Basically, after a submission, you are redirected to a bogus URL.
How fast is the machine that this is on? Could it handle being
mentioned on the Freenet website (10,000 - 15,000 hits per day)?
Ian.

why not add a property to every key that says: pls do not remove me

Because then a file would never get deleted, and the network would
simply fill up.

I don't know what's up with the freenetmirror part,
but I could see the one you did with PutFiles:
Is it past 12am GMT where you are on the 22nd?
Try accessing it this way:

I'm at GMT -5. I submitted successfully(?) around 4pm. The timing issue is

Whoops, you're quick, Ian.
I planned on having a handful of people discover the worst bugs before I let
the crowds rush in.
Hell, whatever, come on in everybody... :-)
Freesite maintainers - what I would be interested in is: is your site listed
in beta.freegle.org? If not, I will try to find
I'm slowly but surely making progress on inserting a website into freenet.
most of the problems i was having were java related with Kaffe and Blackdown
JREs, but using IBM's 1.3 JRE seems to help. Command line insertion and
retrieval work fine, as does fpoxy.
Nevertheless I still have problems
