I run two perm nodes. They are on a 100mbps switched Ethernet network connected to the Internet via a cable modem (~1.5mbps). If I reduce the bandwidth limit from the default of 100000 to 50000 I have noticed:
- the node will run longer without having to wipe the datastore - there will be more keys (looking at the histogram) - frost seems to work more smoothly - fproxy seems to work more smoothly - freenet doesn't saturate with jobs and begin to reject connections I understand these observations could be anecdotal... has anyone else experimented with throttling bandwidth values on high bandwidth connections...? What other settings would be interesting to try for those with high speed connections and powerful computers? _______________________________________________ Chat mailing list Chat at freenetproject.org http://lists.freenetproject.org/mailman/listinfo/chat
