Just purchased this 70 Chevelle.
Driving to the movie store with my kids last weekend and the front brakes slowly lock up. Had to have the car towed home. Later that afternoon I was able to driver her into the garage. I presumed car was sitting up for quite a while and calipers were gummed up. too
A one ton truck should have eight 1/2"

The Yenko Chevelle automatic cars used an aftermarket Hurst Duel Gate shifter
that came with a console. It was similar to a GTO shifter but was designed to
be installed as a replacement shifter. They have a nice retro look.

One of my projects for this winter will be changing
the column automatic shifter to a floor shifter. I just want something
clean looking, that will do the job alright. I don't want something that

That is a definite possibility,Vern. The gaps are tight and consistent but I
really haven't looked to see if the doors might be adjusted too low. It
could be as both doors seem to be leaking in the same spots.

Clint, You might want to check if the door is adjusted right. When I put the
new weather stripping on my 64 elky I could still feel air coming in at the
top. Found out the door was about 3/8 of an inch to low and wasn't letting
the weather stripping seal. Just a thought. Vernon

Clint a good way to check you WX seal is to ues wax paper. The HD not dollar

and drap it down from the roof and close he door.
Now try an pull the paper out and feel the resistance. Sart at the front
lower cowl area and go around the door.
If it bad - loose all around it's time for ne
It could also be that the door is not aligned to the body properly and is
not sealing well. Could be caused by a sagging hinge or loose latch even if
the door has never been off the car.

Ok,so it wasn't a dumb question. Thanks for the info,John. I guess my
weatherstripping is bad(it looks fine, though) as air is leaking around the
door when driving down the road.

I know that the "strato-bench" (bench bottom w/ bucket-style back and an
armrest in the center) was an option in various Oldsmobile models starting
around 1966, and was standard in Olds convertibles at least up until 1972. I
don't think it was offered in the Malibu (or any other GM A-body), but the
My '64 Malibu convertible (in resto) has what appears to be original split

seat color). However, my bench seat has a fold down arm rest in the middle.
Was this an option for '64's or was the bench seat replaced at some tim
The El Camino has a full-framed door, so the door seal goes all the way
around the top of the door and seats against the roof rail when the door is
closed. The entire seal is glued to the door.
On a coupe or convertible door there is no frame around the top of the
glass, so the weatherstrip has to
On a 68-69 El Camino,is the weatherstripping supposed to be glued to the cab
or door? Dumb question maybe but my 69 has it glued to the door. I always
thought my 68 had it glued to the cab.

I have a '72 SBC 4-barrel intake manifold and I'm wondering about the arc-

bores. What're they for, and how do they affect what base gasket I need to
