Well Ron, it could be any number of things. Motor going bad, bad switch, bad ground. I have a 2 speed motor in mine and it only ran on 1 speed. Low! Ran faster when I connected it directly to the battery but it still was not up to where it should be. I replaced the motor and that fixed it. Rich "66
