I've got about an 1 1/2" clearance between my fan and raditor with my long
pump. Does your belt system take up some space or do you have a thicker
raditor (mine is 2 3/4" think)?

Jim,
What time does it start at. There is a chance I may be able to make it. If I do, I'll bring my 69. The 70 is in the trailer ready for Super Chevy.

I've seen the Caddy, way cool, headed for production, no way in hell.
In case I don't make it to the newstand what did the article say about the
66's?

That Desert Cooler radiator is a decent unit. I know it won't fit my 69 but
what years will it fit besides 1966?
Someone needs to snatch it up at that price.

The RD radiator was $500, the shroud was $100, and I also bought an aluminum
overflow tank for $89, plus shipping naturally. All together it was
$737.79.
Yes the Desert Cooler is for sale. Like I said, I paid $400 for it so if
anyone wants it I wouldn't mind getting $200.

Ah no problem- You should probably pick it up anyway
if you are at the newstand and see it. The scoop on

Let's see F**D top that one.

Sorry,Herb. I forgot you and Carol had told me about the Griffin rad episode
at CB'03.
Next question;did you pay $600 or $800 for the Ron Davis set-up? Is the
Desert Cooler rad for sale,now?
Now I'm left wondering if I could run a Ron Davis rad similiar to yours on
my 69 with a short water pump.

I am looking to order a full interior kit and am looking for advice as to which supplier to go with. All suppliers that have kits have little differences as to what you get but I am looking for the best qaulity in thing like the door panels and seat covers. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Good point! I'm sure Carol will like the way you think. :)

Let's see if I can answer everyone's questions/comments in one reply...
You're all correct, I have a 6 speed so that bung is for the drain petcock.
It has two rows of 1" tubes.
Yes it is "purty" thanks.
I doubt it will fit a long pump big block since it looks like a tight fit
with my short pump
For anyone interested,
Tomorrow nite is the weekly cruise nite/car show at
the Hooter's restaurant on Rt 13 in New Castle, DE.
As long as some rogue monsoon doesn't float into the
area tomorrow, I will have my '66 there tomorrow nite.

Does anyone have information or a picture of the standard steering wheel
that would have come with a '66 Chevelle SS. Unfortunately I've seen way

For anyone [**cough cough Herb cough**] interested,
there is a little blurb about the '66 Elco in the
August 2K3 issue of Motor Trend. I was flipping thru
it at the barber shop today, and there's a little
tidbit on the Elco on pg 77.
Also, for you GM lovers out there like me, they have a

Dang , that's one Fine looking Radiator and the fan shroud fits like a
glove. I like the fact the front mounting flange has no pre drilled mounting
holes , so you can use your original support holes with the new radiator...

I'm having trouble with leaking (fixed) windows.
I wonder what's the best thing to do, without pulling 'em out.
The obvious way would be to stuff the gap with acrylatic kit and push the strips back
on.
Then pray it does the job cause afterwards the strips will never come off again.

I believe that bung is for the drain petcock. Herb doesn't have an

Nice radiator. Looks like something that will get too dirty. But then on the
other hand with everything nice and shinny, it's probably real easy to wash off!
But where the heck is the "other" bung for the oil cooler hidden. I see 1 on
the lower right, but where is the other one hiding?
