I've just started doing my bucket seats - it looks doable to me though the catalogues where you buy the replacement vinyl covers advise having a "professional" do the job. I'm replacing the vinyl cover and the seat foan under it because trhere was Mildew odor all through the foam. The foam pieces

Hi,
Can anyone tell me whether a stock 1969 396 thermostat was 180 or 195
degrees? (and how about for a stock 1972 402?).
Thanks in advance,

That's
normal Les. The cowl flapper/door runs off engine vacuum. When the
engine is running the vacuum holds it shut. When you stomp on the gas the
vacuum drops causing the door to open, the same thing happens when you shut off
the engine - no vacuum.

Ron, try this link.
If it doesn't work let me know and I'll try to find a different link. It's a

info on the paint but I have to find it.

What's the trick for removing the Seat BAck Release Button plate on my 69 SS bucket seats? I'm taking aprt the seat to replace the foam cores and recover with new vinyl, and can't see immediately how to remove the button and chrome housing in order to get hte seat back off.

I was told by the guy
