If your light is Wright and you have the vacuum plugged / dis-connected to
the dist... The eng will run at 7deg ATDC
but a Dave said.. you'll have limited power..
I would set it for 4 or 5 deg BTDC and take it for a spin... and edge it up
from there if there is no detonation and smooth power band
Is it me or is the list pretty quiet today? Everyone must be enjoying the fine weather, thats where I am going now that I am off work.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the differences might be at NHRA tracks
versus IHRA. My 'home' track switched this year to NHRA, which I believe is
basically a good thing, just wondering if they tend to be tougher on tech,
different rules, etc.. anyone know?

Does anyone know if the 1965 corvettes had the

Hi Dan,
Does anyone know if the 1965 corvettes had the

I
don't think so. I just checked the 3 references I depend on for "general
stuff". The only thingmentioned about the cooling system is
forthe 396 which got an "increased capacity" cooling system. I did

Nope, they didn't. This
applies to both the reverse rotation water pump and the reverse flow
cooling of the engine.

when you upgrade to an internal regulated
alternator, is the external regulator still needed for any reason?
I'm putting the car back together, and do not want
to put this back on if it is not needed.
any info or links are appreciated.

Maybe a crossflow radiator but not a reverse-flow
system.

I think the difference is mainly the rules structure,Dave. For example,NHRA
Pro Stock rules limit an engine to 500ci whereas IHRA allows 700+ci mountain
motors.

The last 2 days have been really nice out here. Yesterday I spent most of the day putting the rear back in my 70, then I road tested it to Fuddruckers for the Friday night cruise. Today, I cleaned up the garage and did a little work on my cousin's Barracuda.
