Hi Ron...thank for the quick reply. I'd LIKE to be able to drive it on road trips, but most of what I do will be in town with infrequent trips to the strip. A 5 or 6 speed would be best, but the older 4-speeds, Muncies and such aren't terribly expensive. Overdrive would be awesome for mileage, bu

I have 40’s on mine..like I said in a previous post, I think it’s a little loud, but never had any pops…but then there is a little more involved in popping then exhaust pressure.   I plan on changing out the mufflers this next summer to quite it down some.   Ron My '66 http://myweb.cab

I'm done a couple 4 speed conversions...pretty straight forward especially if you don't have to weld the z-bar bracket to the frame (I believe a '68 frame is drilled and tapped). As far as going to a Tremec, I did that conversion last year. It all depends on what you want, how you plan to drive i

Hi guys... I'm REALLY wanting to convert my '68 to a stick... I'm NOT restoring, but AM on a budget. Car is mainly going to be a cruiser. I don't expect to ever have more than 450-500HP. I'm wanting advice on whether to go with an old style 4-speed, or a new style trans. A Tremec would be nice, bu

When I was in high school I had a 53 Stude with a 389 Pontiac w/ tri-power and isky cam. It sounded "BAD", then one night I raised the hood and it looked like a xmas tree around the wires. They were too close. I adjusted the wires and the idle didn't sound "BAD" anymore. Smoothed right out.

Here's a tip. Be sure to open your hood in the dark every once in a while. It's a great way to see if any of your ignition wires are arcing.

I actually don’t have carpets right now. I was buying them from a place in California and they wouldn’t drop-ship Carpets are pretty heavy and the shipping from CA to NY was a killer of both time and money. I hope to have them back soon from a different vendor.   John Nasta       ---

Karl, Don't try to replace major structural panels while on a rotissisory. You need the car supported by the chassis support points when changing a quarter, roof etc.  Mike Holleman - Original Message - From: Karl Groves To: 'The Chevelle Mailing List' Sent: Saturd

With all this talk of rotisserie's I was wondering if anyone out there had a set of plans to build one that they would be willing to share.  I have found a couple plans on the net but I figure you guys on here would probably have one that worked for Chevelles a little better.  Thank you

Yep, if your car is a hardtop , the roof supplies all the support needed.    Did you make your rotisserie, or buy one.  I'd really like to use one for my car but dont really want the cost of buying one new, nor the time of building one, since I dont presume to ever need it again.   Dan McIn

If you can build a rotisserie, then you can build a door support also. Use the threaded hole at the striker, and the threaded holes for the door hinges (for each top and bottom).  Bolt a flat piece to each of these (3 places), then cut a length of square tube (2 of these) to fit between them,

I am building mine. In fact, I'm thinking of building them and selling them. There are a lot of pretty good rotisseries out there, but the shipping costs are insane.  I figure if I build them, I could have a good market on the east coast, since the guy with the cheapest rotisseries is in CA.
