One of the best upgrades you can do for your chevelle is an upgrade to HEI ignition. Anything GM around mid-1974 on was fitted with a HEI distributor. They are very easy to find, install and wire. You can expect easier starting, better economy, stronger high RPM performance, yada yada yada..

My brother is a auto mechanic, and he swears by them. No dust being one of the reasons. Ive also heard they dont heat up as much, so the discs dont warp as much. But Ive heard from another guy, that they eat away at the discs because they are a harder compound. Dont know if that's true, just
