Sounds like it's from a 71/72 Chevelle but either something is amiss or you have some letters/numbers incorrect. KD is a 2.73 (71s and 72s had the extra 'C'), 06 is day of year but it should be three numbers; if it's really a B, it's Buffalo, NY plant and 2 is 2nd shift. B231 is the casting date,

Jim, I was concerned about that. I bought what is supposed to be a 12 bolt rear end from a 67. I have researched the code stamped on the passenger side axle tube (KDC 06B 2) but have not be able to identify what kind of car it came from. Casting numbers are B231, 67890 and OON3. The rear end
