I'm replacing the grille on my '71 Malibu. I have a replacement from
Year One which is a gray plastic, but I would like to paint it the
original silver color. I have the original grille to try and match the
paint , but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get the correct
paint? It also
Krister- With a better ignition, you may find that a larger gap and a
colder plug are better. Trial and error is going to be the only way to find
out. The main benefits I saw when I installed one in a vehicle years ago
were easier cold starting, better throttle response and maybe a little
better
Krister- The hotter you run your engine, the more efficient it gets, which
is why new cars tend to run between 200 and 230 degrees. Same reason Nascar
runs theirs so hot. On the other hand a cooler engine with a cooler intake
charge will tend to make more power.
