In stock form, the 200R4 is not as strong as the 700R4. You need to get a quality rebuild that can handle the expra power that most of our cars can produce. There are people with turbo Grand Nationals that have 200R4s that take a ton more power than any stock 700R4 could take, so you know they ca

Depends on what you start with. The trans I got was the 700R-4 S/S ($1495 then, $1740 now) and with other parts, converter, dipstick & tube, Lokar TV cable (to fit Accel/DFI fuel injection unit), brackets, etc. total parts was $1720. Cutting the driveshaft was another $200 and 9.5 hrs of labor br

Another vote for Phoenix transmissions. They are in Weatherford (just west of ft worth). They can do you either a 700 or 200. And yes, the side vents are a pain. I didn't remove the whole dash, but I loosened everything in order to get them out.Believe there are 3 bolts on top of dash at
