Well since we are diagnosing engine problems i figured i would throw mine in
there. I have a built 454 and a new MSD ignition. Around 3000 rpms it will
start to slightly miss, not enough to give any loss of power but it is
easily heard. It doesnt happen before 3000 rpm nor under WOT. I
So put in AutoLite plugs...nothing special... and it
still does the same thing. Do i need to get plugs i can gap or what going
on here.
Try AC plugs that you can gap first, then see if it still does it.

just a thought, have you installed new wires or at least check them, make sure there on the plug secure?

yeah i have new wires and have checked their connection however i will

No power loss but a miss? Can you feel it or just hear it? Are you sure it
isn't detonation? What is you base and total timing set at?

I can mainly just hear it. I wouldnt know how to tell wether or not it is
detonation but i would figure if it was then it would do it throught the rpm
band and under WOT too and not just at 3000 rpms. I have no idea what

Could it possibly be a small exhaust leak? Do you have Headers and could
they be leaking maybe? They sometimes sound like a miss
I was just going to ask what your initial, advance and total timing was.
