Believe me, I know what you mean, but just try and find one. The 71-72 small block
convertibles are just not out there. (I used to have a 71) The few that are on line
are well into the 20k's. And to find one with some kind of documentation is even more
difficult.
I've been seriously looking
As some of you may know, I have been looking for a 1971 SS convertible for a couple
years now. Today I had one checked out by a mechanic. It looks like a real one, but
doesn't have a remote mirror. The engine is not original. It needs a new top and
interior should be done too. There is
why not get the VIN and verify whether it is or is not a clone. If its a
clone it most certainly isnt worth 14k.
After that purchase price is subjective. How bad do you want the car.

71 Cannot tell if it is a true SS or not from the VIN. If it were a 72 and had a W code for the 454 engine, then it would be no problem. Only way to tell is the buildsheet.
