I'd say either a screw up at the
factory,someone's replaced a fender and not the emblem or one's not really
a factory 454 car. The SS could be had with either a 402,
350-4,350-2 or a 454 in 71. The SS-454 was a different order code and got

Questions for the list
I was wondering if someone could tell me something about a 71' chevelle SS.
My question is what is the differance between a car with SS over 454 on the
front fender, and one that just has SS on the front fender.. both cars are
orginal 454 cars.
