I spoke with a supervisor at Edelbrock about the
vapor lock problem. Here is what was said.
If the fuel line is location against the front of
the block,like most stock engine, then this can be a problem.
Steel fuel lines will cause more heat problems than
braided lines. The braided line
When you state that the car would not start, I take
it that the engine would turn over, but just not fire up??
I know people at Edelbrock and have emailed your
problem to them. I will let you know the reply.

Thanks for your quick answers. I think we have located
the problem. The fuel pump and lines are routed near
a radiator hose. In fact the hose is right on the
lines.

Edelbrock make a heat insulator gasket to go between the carb and intake
manifold. I don't remember the part number ( previous thread). I put one
on my 67, under a 1406
