Well, I finally did it... I put a high torque mini starter on my car! Man, what a difference! I think Raj was the last person to rave about this upgrade... Thanks Raj! :)
I'd highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you're having hot start problems. I did the ford solenoid thing and new ultima battery, but I was still having problems with starting after I'd run across town, go in a store, come out and try to start the car. Not anymore! I went 50 miles across town yesterday in 112 deg. heat, shut the car off, went back and started it 10 min. later without a hint of trouble starting. I got the starter from Jegs. It's a CVR 1.9-HP Nippondenso motor with a 4.44:1 gear ratio. It draws 80-90 amps and weighs 10 lb. And the best part, it's the cheapest one I could find at $146.99 Part #: 171-5323 (I know someone will ask if I don't include the part # :) ) Rodney. 71 Chevelle El Mirage, AZ ----------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
