You need to pull the center pin. Spin the internals around until you get the

I pulled the axles out of my GM 12 Bolt with Eaton Posi in preparation for
an upcoming swap and one of the cupped washers fell out from behind a spider
gear. I found it in the bottom of the case. It came out... So you would
think
