Where to begin. First, an apology for the long post.
I don't remember my last post - been so busy with work and stuff. Recap: I
am building up my first car, a 72 Chevelle I bought from my sister when I
was 15 years old. Planning on building up a fairly nice (but not show)
pro-touring machine. Since it was a 307 2bbl, TH350, bench seat car - what
fun would a stocker be? Did I mention that it was green?
Last post I think I had just gotten the car back from the body shop with new
right side quarter panel, straightened up the drivers side door, and a new
fender and SS style hood from Goodmark. Car is now in primer - waiting on
paint.
Okay. I got the frame and tunnel mods done for the LS2 and T56 transmission
complete. The engine looks bitchin in the car - I will post pics later.
I stripped the firewall, got rid of the stock A/C because it was full of
rust from a leaky heater core, and basically stripped the interior minus the
dash and steering shaft.
I put the engine and tranny in storage.
I have to work out the hydraulic shift linkage - got some help from Tyler at
ATS in that department. Should be complete a few days after the new pedal
set-up gets in from OPGI. Don't get me started about that order.
I plan to get the frame galvanized and then paint with POR-15. Planning on
a body off in about 5-6 weeks. So I ordered the following parts:

Global west rear upper (adjustable) and lower control arms (with the
del-a-lum/spherical bushings)
Global west front upper control arms.
Global west lowering springs (front and rear)
ATS tall spindles (www.t56kit.com)
"A" body steering arms to fix bumpsteer
Slave cylinder bracket to accommodate 99 Firebird slave cylinder to Chevelle
Bilstein shocks front and rear
Touring Classics (www.touring-classics.com) C5 Corvette brake system (front)
12" brake disk kit (matching for rear)
Global west sway bars (front and rear)
Global west frame supports (for rear suspension)
All the ball joints, tie rod connectors, poly ball joint and tie rod
bushings, etc.
Rubber frame mounts from OPGI (not the bone shaking poly kind)
Brake/Clutch brake pedal assy, bushings, pads
New brake/clutch pedal bracket off Ebay (mine is jacked up)

Still need to order:
Moser 12-bolt, 33 spline trutrac, 3:73 gears, Torino ends
Brake lines, etc.
Stroker package for the LS2 :-)

Most of the stuff is in, so now I am more motivated to get the chassis
finished before March/April timeframe. The Air Force is talking about
sending me away for a year in the sand this time next year, so I have to get
crackin and get something done before I leave.
I will most likely be writing in with some dumb questions. Wish me luck.
