Sometimes it helps to know what year you're working with. On a 67, for example,
not only is the front yoke different, but the driveshaft and how it bolts to
the rear end is different. A 67 TH400 uses two straps where everything else
uses u-bolts for the rear universal to the rear's front yoke.

I finally have gotten around to building my 396 and
putting in a TH400. (I get a nice discount with Advance Auto Parts) What I was
wondering is what tail length I need on the TH400 to fit the original
driveshaft or do I have to do work to the driveshaft no matter wh
i'm swaping out my powerglide for a th350, i
think i have the 350 with the long tail cone, can they be changed out for the
short tail ? what all is involved in this?

Im sure you will not want to hear this but I would
suggest not putting in that tranny. The only good
trait to them is they are cheap and easy to come by,
and thats pretty obvious once you live with on for a
little while. It would cost a little to convert to
that tranny and it would just not be wort
I have an 85 Elky with a 350 ci and 350 trans and I have the opportunity to pick up a 5 spd from an 88 Camaro and I was thinking of putting it into the Elky. The Elky is my daily driver. Does anyone know if the 5 spd uses a hydraulic or manual clutch and how much adapting will I have to do to get
