I have a cast iron Holly intake with a freeze plug in the oil filler hole that can be replaced with the filler tube if you are interested. My 283 has an intake from a 327 300hp made in the mid 60's so I can run a Carter AFB or Edelbrock carb. The stock 4-barrel 283 intake was for a small 4
I'd have to doublecheck but I'm pretty sure at least the 1966 manifold
accepts a squarebore carb with a square (5-1/4"?) pattern (my guess is that a
4G would fit). I had a '64 intake that took a squarebore carb but the side-
to-side bolt width was less than the front-to-back width.

had the oil fill tube. It was for a spreadbore carb, and a small one at that. I
changed to an Edelbrock Performer.
