Didn¹t they have a factory cowl induction option in 66 or 67 too?

You could get a Year One or Orginal Parts Group (OPG) catalog and add up all
the items for a retail price for repops, or simply call their order desk and

Here are the links to what I think you need, if you need the pod

list.
I dikd not get that photo. Could you please send again? Thank

Yeah, Mike, he certainly put the design to use on his infamous "7/8-scale"
'66 Chevelle race car... But even before that the design was employed on
early-60's Chevy racers, too. I distinctly remember seeing one on a '63
Impala back in the day.

Yep! I thought I remember seeing that Yunick car in
Florida because it was illegal. The drip edge was
shaved and door handles and window glass was flush
with the body surfaces. Gold and black is right.

Didn't every article about Smokey involve black and gold cars and taking the rules to

I thought I saw this in an old CHP magazine. So during
the holidays, I dug a years worth out and looked but I
did not find it. I rememberd something about this
firewall-aircleaner assy made by Smokey Yunick for the
67 chevelle NASCAR car. Does that sound right?

I found these pictures of a Camaro and Impala Z11 with the cowl induction setups.
I think I read once that these actually work better but lack the "wow" factor of
exposed scoops and opening flappers. Maybe in Smokey Yunick's book.

The thing that makes it work is the turbulance at the bottom of the windshield. In
that area, the air is in a tumbling motion which forces the cool air between the hood
and the windshield where the duct work begins. Regardless of the air flow, it still
works better for getting in cool air as o

Goodmark is coming out with a steel cowl induction hood
for '68-69's. Not sure if it is available yet, though. Cost is $460 +
freight.
Both VFN and Glasstek will both build a custom 2" cowl
hood for a little over $600/ea + freight. I am thinking hard about a 3" but

I have to assume that this is not a repro SS hood you are referring to. If
you are, the price is too high.

I know that several people I know have had trouble with that seal. You may want to try the tech advisory at team chevelle.
