So our two great chis, Bandit & Smatchemo, have taken to REALLY barking.  Now we use the usual--never praise for barking, firm "enough" or "no", even what a book suggests: a weak squirt gun to wet them right when they bark, so long as they don't see, they associate getting wet w/barking (hard to do).

But their barking seems very much to be akin to fear.  When my parents visited, poor smatchemo was shivering in fear when he was barking.  Do they just need to be better socialized?  We don't have guests over much w/our busy work schedules.  But they go to a daycare and we take them to petco (walks soon after more shots).

Anyone else have tips on reducing barking?
(our complex doesn't technically allow pets, so barking isn't a great thing; otherwise, i wouldn't mind at all--good warning signals! =)
