Interesting, but I wonder if a LC and a LC's pups will have fuller/longer coats
than the LC pups of a SC and LC???

Sheila,
Thia is what I read..
When you breed a smooth coat to a long coat you will get both kinds
of coat in this breeding, but to do this dilutes the long coat
gene's. Even though it is a recessive gene. Long Coated Chihuahuas
can take a little time to get their full coats, sometimes up
ve one too when he is
older. I have heard, for full coats, it can take up to 2 years for them to
fill out.
Do you have a picture of Nitro?

Stefanie,
I'm so gla
Stefanie,
I'm so glad to have you say that Nitro's coat is normal. I have a
friend who is a vet tech and she told me that Nitro is a medium coat,
not a long coat. I did see both of Nitro's parents and they were both
lc. Mom was fuller than dad but both were LONG!
I'll see if I can attach
e too when he is older. I have
heard, for full coats, it can take up to 2 years for them to fill out.

Cesar's long coat started to grow back.

Oh my gosh, what a cutie!
I had wondered how long it took for the LC Chi to get its full coat.
Nitro is 4 months old and apparently losing his baby hair right now.
His tail and his ears are long though.
