As I'm sure we all know In humans digestion begins in the mouth when food is chewed and mixed with enzymes. In canines however the enzymes and acids are in the stomach which is where digestion begins so chewing is not that important. I would suspect another cause for undigested food in feces. +++++I don't know if 8 is considered a senior in the Chihuahua breed? Is there a specific reason for the senior food? If this were one of my dogs I would cook up some skinless chicken breast with some yam or sweet potato(peeled and mashed), both are easy to digest. This will give her gut a chance to rest, while you research another food alternative.
