I've fixed the issue, its not with Chrome at all but the Windows Advanced
Firewall. If
your rule in the firewall refers to Chrome using the %userprofiles% switch

I loaded successfully google and yahoo mail login pages (both are https).
Login into
the mail accounts worked, as well.
Chrome Version: 4.0.206.1
OS: Windows XP
