On windows 7 beta, i used the Chrome Channel Changer tool 2.0 and it

Chrome to dev (or says so), but my "About Google Chrome" is the standard

Seems like Chrome just happened to update while you were making the channel
changer
update. If you uninstall and reinstall Chrome and update to Dev channel,
will that
up
