After creating a storage pool I use
# zfs set sharesmb=on spool01
After, I create the file systems which inherit the smbshare.
# zfs create -o casesensitivity=mixed -o nbmand=on spool01/temp
Then I set the ACLs on parent folders and the mounted share via:
If nbmand is off there won't be much coordination between
SMB and NFS accesses to the same file and it could potentially
lead to file corruption.
If you don't have simultaneous access to the same files over
both protocols then you don't need to worry about turning nbmand off.

but I can explain how nbmand works and let you decide on what
to do.
The locking facility exists centrally within the OS and all
access (local, NFS or SMB) always goes through it regardless

In opensolaris we used to be able to disable the root role in
/etc/user_attr and then be able to login to root or ssh to root with
appropriate /etc/ssh/sshd_config.
That seems to cause unexpected problems in openindiana.
Is there a proceedure for this that works well?
