Hello,

We are in the process of migrating our windows fileserver to cifs (open
solaris SunOS 5.11 snv_130), but every now and then one of our test
users can' t login to the AD domain (roaming user profiles). Errors in
event log are
- 1509 Windows cannot copy file [... profile path
...]\veit.usr\NTUSER.DAT to C:\Dokumente und
Einstellungen\veit\NTUSER.DAT ...
- 1515 Windows has backed up this user profile. Windows will
automatically try to use the backup profile the next time this user logs on.
- 1511 : Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on
with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost
when you log off.
Errors in userenv.log :
- ReconcileFile: GetFileAttributes on the source failed with error = 2
- CopyProfileDirectoryEx: ReconcileFile failed with error = 2
Reboot or login again will do it. Profiles belong to the users (owner).
Setting the group policy „slow link detection“ to off doesn' t make any
difference (though errors are less frequent).
We never had any problems with a Win2003 file server.
Any hints ? I read about offline file caching on the profiles share, but
sharemgr show -vp doesn' t show anything (default ist manual ?)
This is the only issue of which I'm aware:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287566
The default is manual. More details are available here:
