I just want to give you an update. I have reproduced locally the problem
with deleting the symbolic link key after the "SymbolicLinkValue" value has
been deleted. I also changed the function kernel_mode_registry_path() in
smbtorture to return FQN to duplicate the behavior

We completed the investigation and confirmed that functionality of deleting
symbolic link's source key is not available in Windows registry remote
service(MS-RRP). Unfortunately, there is no way for a remote client to delete
a symbolic link source key on the server. Does
