      Palestinians' friends should support Jews

THE title of this article may look strange to many. But in reality most
Arabs are unaware of the fact that a large number of Jews inside and outside
Israel do not support Zionism. Rather they are very much against the movement.
These Jews are badly in need of support. Although this important group of Jews
has been present since the early days of Zionism, the supporters of the
movement did not allow them to get proper media coverage or to influence the
younger generation of Jews.

But the information revolution brought about by the Internet has changed
the balance of media power during the last five years and given the opponents
of Zionism a chance to air their views and thus make the voice of justice and
humanity heard by the people around the world.

A fierce media battle between the two groups of Jews is now going on
through the Web pages and sometimes in newspapers and on major television
channels. The anti-Zionist Jews have expressed their disgust toward the
atrocities being committed by Israel against Palestinians in occupied
territories in front of the eyes of the international community. They also know
the reputation of Jews is now closely linked with Israel and that any acts of
revenge carried out by Arabs and Muslims would affect them and their children.

As a result we can see strong criticisms in the Western press and media
against the State of Israel and Zionism, especially from Jewish reporters and
writers who are against Zionism and right-wing Israeli leaders. This media
battle between the two groups of Jews has created a kind of confusion in the
ranks of the American Jewish community, which is considered the most
influential group in the world. The belligerents have started accusing each
other of dual loyalty and money politics, terms that were hitherto considered
taboo.

All these developments remind anti-Zionist Jews of the old anti-Semitic
tirade they faced in Europe, especially the charges of treason leveled by Nazi
Germans against their fathers and forefathers. But the Jews, who opposed
Zionism, had to pay a big price for challenging the Zionist media machinery in
the US. As a result they were driven away from the society and thrown out of
jobs in newspapers and other organizations. Some of them lost everything and
had to depend on the donations given by Jews and Christians. Despite these
harsh situations, the number of anti-Zionist Jews is increasing day by day.

The Israeli military aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza earlier
this year followed by the election of a racist Israeli government about four
months ago has raised a lot of questions and led to heated discussions on the
Internet among the Jews themselves. They are worried about the real price they
are paying for supporting the racist State of Israel. Those who want to know
more about these Jews, who support the Palestinians, should search for their
websites and blogs in order to read what they are writing, unveiling the
disgraceful acts of Zionist organizations. They have also exposed how Zionists
threaten their opponents and how they buy members of US Congress in order to
ensure America's unqualified support for Israel, disregarding its crimes.

I take this opportunity to advise those who support the legitimate rights
of the Palestinians and the efforts for Middle East peace to give their full
backing to these anti-Zionist Jews, who have sacrificed their money and even
their relations with their closest people in order to stand by the rights of
Palestinians. I don't have the complete record of these anti-Zionist writers
and websites but they include writers like Norman G. Finkelstein and Mike
Marqusee and blogs such as Antonyloewenstein.com , Mondoweiss.net and
www.philipweiss.com
