Maitland, is the problem still there if you look at your video using
that command :
mplayer -vf pp=lb your_hdv_movie.dv

Nicolas,
I shoot with a JVC HD10U and have not had any display problems with my
HDV files. Of course, there may be a difference between the JVC and
Sony HDV formats. Not sure about that. But also remember that you'll
need to create table of contents file for your HDV video using either:
1) mpeg3

What kind of lossless (or near-lossless) video codecs are available for
linux these days? I know there has to be something b/c of all the
Hollywood movies that have been produced on the system. However,

Is there a reason why cinelerra (specificaly debian packages) depend
on automake1.8 and not automake1.9? I'm testing builds with both and
cinelerra also builds with newer version of automake.
Can/should the dependancies be upgraded?

Please apply the following debian/control patch which will make
Cinelerra actually buildable in clean sid chroot. See
http://wiki.debian.org/DependsXlibsDev for reasons why xlibs-dev isn't
in unstable repository anymore.
