I actually did manage to reload the file:
For some reason if I load a different project file (xml) before loading
the file that freezes, then the file that once froze the gui loads fine.

Hey Daniel,
I have been having an issue like this with cinCV.
I just finished a project and now cin freezes when I try and open the
xml file. I just did an strace on the part when cin is loading the file
and freezing and here is the result:
futex(0x885afa4, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 1, NULL

Hey all,
After I got cin (on lenny 32bit) working by running it as sudo I found
some very strange issues.
For some reason the window manager seems to effect whether cin will
freeze on startup, even as sudo. Works in gnome all the time (with
sudo), but never in blackbox (sudo it not). Why this wou
Hi Georg
Well there is a program capable of doing that, but requires some effort.
Here the programing language vs application gets a little blurry.
Getting the output from PD into cin would be a larger problem.
You can do lots of stuff in PD in real-time visually also, so you may be
able to do
I had the idea years ago to exchange data between Pure Data and cin,
never ended up getting to it though.
Would be neat to be able to do some PD-based video and/or audio analysis
and being able to save that data in a way that cin/lum could read it.
An idea is a text file of timecodes (with option
Thanks John,
Indeed kino was not running (I capture using dvgrab directly).
I did manage to solve most of my issues.
Switching to X11-opengl, and switching to ALSA (rather than OSS) with
"stop playback locks up" checked. I also turned off "play every frame" I
also switched to nearest neighbour s
nd lengths.
The only files I seem able to playback as I used to are movs constructed
of jpeg sequences. Files with temporal compression seem to exhibit this
behaviour. Any hints?
This is on a debian lenny machine AMD64 3200+ running 2.6.25 #1 SMP in
32bit mode
Hi Daniel,
I installed cinelerra back when etch was testing, it continued to work
while etch was stable but not when I upgraded to lenny.
Turns out that the issue I'm having *is* solved by running cinelerra
with sudo. Anyone have any idea why this is? I also tried the cinelerra4
package you menti
erday, how about you?
Thanks for the help.

Is it worth getting one of these hidef cameras? Is the hidef codec
