minutes of googling has not specifically helped me yet so I though I'd ask
on the mailing list here until our beloved 'Grandma' is feeling well
enough to have visitors once again.
Also I have a mailing list question... I appear on this list as 'info'
which I assume was taken from my email address
Great Job! Congratulations!

Hi,
Having used both there are some annoying bugs in 4.3 (ladspa plugin
control GUI's don't work among others). In my experience the only reliable
export option in 4.3HV is H.264/aac and it is not compliant with Apple
devices for those who care about such end-use of their created media. DVD
Hi David,
Is using the YUV4MPEG pipe with ffmpeg an option? I personally don't use
CinelerraCV's native export at all (except for Audio only) due to the kind
of bugs you describe. I realize that piping to ffmpeg requires having to
mux the audio and video streams together separately but I have a
Hi Nicolas,
Here are the HD Editing presets for Cinelerra from WinFF I use. I have
simply cut them out of the 'presets.xml' file found in the '.winff' config
folder found in the user's home folder. Anyone wanting to use them with
WinFF could simply copy and paste them from this post into their
Hi,
To clarify this error affected Cinelerra versions prior to 2.2CV as well.
I have noted the same error when editing H.264 video from an iPod Touch.
In my experience the error was annoying and will interrupt playback on the
timeline however I could still do fades and titling etc. and render the
Hi,
I am trying to compile and package Cinelerra-CV 2.2 and encountering the
following error during compilation. This is on AV Linux (based on Debian
Squeeze i386). I have tried gcc 4.4 and 4.6 and also applied the latest
Debian CinCV 2.1.5 patches from debian-multimedia.org all with the same
Hi,
Well after some reading and brainstorming I think I will amalgamate
several of the ideas mentioned here, so I sincerely thank all who gave
their suggestions/warnings/opinions. The AV Linux ISO Image is a unique
non-commercial presentation media so I will stop calling it non-GPL since

Eeesh!
Joining this list has been both uncomfortable and educational at the same
time...is everyone greeted with such 'hospitality'?...lol
OK, so what about this:
AV Linux goes GPL(3) and I issue a disclaimer statement declaring which
EXACT packages are 'non-free' but come bundled with the ISO
Nicola,
Thanks, don't worry I understand that these comments are coming from
concern not malice. The truth hurts sometimes and evidently I have been
somewhat negligent in my comprehension of the GPLs so it's a bit of a
wake-up call.
So to clarify I meant AV would have to be under the same GPL
Well then I'm in good company! Thanks for sharing that raffa!

No, only special fellows in the same shoes as Cinelerra. :-)
Guess why Cinelerra is not included in Debian and Ubuntu?
Hi fellow CinCV'ers
I recently was browsing the mail archives here and noticed some concern
over the AV Linux 5.0 release announcement I posted here in June. My
sincere apologies for not replying, at the time I was not a Cinelerra
mailing list subscriber so any replies to my announcement didn't
Hi Again,
Well I'm not a lawyer either so we have something in common!
I've been distributing AV Linux like this since 2007 and to be honest
never have had this come up, I will have to scour the fine print a little
closer but I was under the impression that any derived work could be

Just passing that along if you are interested in updating the info at
CinelerraCV. Thaks for all your hard work and promotion of Cinelerra!
