No. :-(
They are only grouped (for drag and drop) when they start at the exact
moment in time.

Well, I got some advice on IRC and managed to eliminate the problem. DV and
2's compliment produced audio sync problems, as well as the avi container and
pretty much anything in it. Anyway, I went ahead and tried mpeg-4 and mp3
inside of the quicktime container as per the advice at
