Fred,
I should say that those notes are for HDV content, but some of them are
applicable for regular DV.

No where in this thread have I seen the following suggestion. On my machine,
:)
# dvgrab
3)copy paste here what output
I actually ran some video, and when the camera was shut off I got this
response.
Reset Handler received
"" 0.00 MB 0 frames
Capture Stopped

what's going on, i'm asking you to tell me what the system is telling
you.
1) open dvgrab from a terminal (with root privilege)

3)copy paste here what output
4) open another terminal
5) type
# dmesg

Fred,
Here are some notes I have regarding getting dvgrab to work using my JVC
HD10U from my blog:
Notes:
mpg1394 works better for grabbing HDV.
Make sure there is a symbolic link to /dev/raw1394:
ln -s /dev/raw/raw1394 /dev/raw1394
Make sure the driver is chmod 666:
chmod 666 /dev/raw/raw1394

Hello People,

I figure a question about Kino isn't too off topic. Now this may be my
fault, but I forgot to set the date and time on my new JVC GR D750U
video camera. (I intended to use it for a tape deck, but took it
