It's probably a GRE issue...you have to allow the GRE sessions back into
your network from the outside. Look at the logs during a connection attempt.

I just found the answer to this question from our account rep - the first
is installed as part of the device and the one with = on the end is a
'spare part,' i.e. not installed in any device.

Take a look at the 7401 - only 1 RU and plenty of ram available...

Your access list for the dmz interface (ping_acl) only allows icmp
traffic. The implicit 'deny any any' at the end is stopping your traffic.
As a side note - it's a bad idea to post configs with passwords - encrypted
or not - to any public forum. Which this is.
Good luck...

Which is EXACTLY why I suggested renaming the access list ;-)
I eventually went to 'insidelist', 'outsidelist', 'dmzlist', etc. I'm much
less confused (about that issue only) now.

Which version of PIX code are you running?
5.x syntax would be:
access-list outbound deny ip 10.3.
It's ridiculous. The exam only qualifies a person to attempt the
lab. It's not a certification. It's almost as bad as "CCIE Candidate."

Boson's Config Register Calculater (free at www.boson.com) says that your
console linespeed is 115200 instead of 9600. Console port speed is set
with the higher bits.

but I'm hearing rumors that the exam is being changed or updated. Can you
give me any real information?

Has anyone made a Xyplex/iTouch Maxserver terminal server work as a reverse
telnet termserver for console ports on a catalyst 2900 or 3500 switch? It
works fine on router console ports but I can't get it to do anything on the
catalysts.
Thanks for any help.

Why not just build a linux box with ssh support and telnet from there to
the term server? Another step - but probably more secure...and a lot
cheaper than another router.
