I total agree and that is the problem -- I don't want to give up the last
Cisco product (other then the PIX) we have.  They guys that are pushing
forward with this idea are the switch guys and they are trying to convince
Management.  I really don't have a reason other than I want to keep the
router and not use a switch.  Fiber to the door is cheaper.  However, we
will then be using the YIPES' MAN which they have said is fail proof (yea
right) but I really don't know.
