I've got two 2621XM routers with WIC-1DSU-T1 cards in them
here at work to play around with, I want to mimic a serial connection
between the two 2621's via the WIC,
any idea as to what cable I need to use or a Cisco part number
so I can connect these to routers together ?
TIA

as far as switching goes, (that's as far as I got with my CCNP)
you will need to perform similar functions in catOS and native IOS.
Getting a switch that will run catOS will not be cheap.
you might need to look at virtual labs i.e. renting rack space

Possibly looking for some classroom training in the DC Metro / MD area.
I've found a place that might work, was interested if any locals may have
used these facilities and want to offer feedback on their experience.

Taking the 640-604 switching exam within the next week or two and my
research shows, from the cisco site, although there was HSRP and ATM LANE
questions on the 640-503 exam, these topis are not included on the 640-604
exam.
Just wanted to confirm, thanks.

Report misconduct and
640-604 exam description says under multilayer switching topic
apply flow masks to influence the type of MLS cache
what is your interpretation of this statement.
I know there are 3 types of Flow Masks, Destination-IP,
Source-Destination-IP, and IP-Flow.
I also know we can control the MLS cache
Just wanted to give a general shout out to all, I'm new here, figured I'd
need some help with some study issues.
been a CCNA for about 2 1/2 years, looking to pass CCNP exams by August

exactly what is happening at the time of connectivity loss ?
without more detail I would guess that your sessions are timing out and
you need to increase the timeouts.

are you better at self study ? or do you require some hand holding

I think motivation, focus, and specific goals are requirements for self

I took the network acad 1.0 track, did some studying on my own, i.e.

the difference would be if you were using standard or extended access
lists.
apply standard access lists at the destination router
apply extended access lists at the source router
so for your example to block access to lan B from lan A
apply a standard access list to the in port of router B
or
According to the cisco logo usage guidelines, which must be accepted
before such use of a logo, it says that only the highest achieved cisco

which would take presidence ?
now there is a can of worms...
Sorry folks, I should have been clearer...
I do not wish to compromise my network by giving out real IP addresses
I chose 10.x.x.x and 12.x.x.x. only as an example IP address..

ATM is hardly a dead
it'd be a class A address with a 24 bit subnet mask
generally 10.9.2.3/24
but remember you are locking yourself into 254 hosts on the entire
network.
A better idea might be to use a 192.x.x.x or a 172.x.x.x and a 16 bit
mask,
this'd make life easier to subnet in the future. 10.9.2.3/16 just
no calculator. here is how I remembered 2^n-2
for class c
2 6 14 30 62
62 30 14 6 2
one is backwards, one is forwards, top is # of subnets bottom is number
of hosts
class B is the same
just in powers of 2 to 16384(-2) for the subnets and the reverse 16384
to 2 for the hosts
if you know
24 matches
