You can encrypt passwords but you will need this statement in the
router/switch aside from the default secret password. The command is:
service password-encryption

No, they are not the same..
the Default gateway is where you send traffic that you do do not know how to
get to. It is similar to a Default Gateway on a regular computer.
The gateway of last resort is where you send Traffic that you do not have a
route for in your routing tables.
