i have a slight problem
ok.. im my 16xx router i was using ios 11.2 ip-only,
anyways i wanted to config bgp to play around with, so in the correct mode
i did a "router ?", and bgp was listed, then when i did "router bgp 1" (or
anyone AS) it said unknown routing protocol. then i tried
a relativly simple way could be to use a program called
'autoexpect' its for *nix though :P (apologies if you said you were
running NT or something, didnt read original message thoroughly)
what it pretty much does is log commands you type in, and make them into a
script. basicaly you can do tho

i just attached my modem to my 1601 router..
and i got it to dial my isp and all that.. it seems to work but every few
minutes it disconects could this be from lack of activity on the line ?

if your ethernet0 is 10.0.0.1
and you make your serial0 have that unnumbered thingy
so both your serial and ethernet have 10.0.0.1 does that mean
the remote site your connecting to will have to have an address like
10.0.0.2 so its in the same network as your serial0 ?

i had the same trouble...
i think when you use the dialer-map you have to specify the ip of the
default gateway, as oposed to the interface
so instead of ip route blah blah serial0,
make it ip route blah blah xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

about, theres some backup command :)
now i've got a 1603, and its got 1 serial and 1 isdn.. so 2 wan ports, and
ios 12.8, but i cant seem to be able to find the backup command ?
