You could use a front-end tool to enable a proxy ping. Solarwinds provides such a program. http://www.purenetworking.net/Products/SolarWindsPE/ProxyPing.htm Is this what you meant? Other packages like InfoVista also support proxy pings and the collection/reporting of the results. Larry ""K
