3Com's gig trunking protocol is proprietary. Its a load sharing method similar to Cisco's fast etherchannel concept. The 6506 won't know what to do with it. Their gig modules will talk to each other, and both support 802.1q, but you cannot load share links between them. -Rob Fielding
