I have a 2514 that is showing a DCE RS-449 cable when I enter show controllers serial 1. Serial 0 correctly shows a DCE v.35. The far end of the Serial 1 connection shows a DTE v.35. What should I look for when I troubleshoot? Bent pins? IOS bug? Incorrect config? Thanks for the help. Bobby

I am testing my ability to post. I sent one earlier that did not get through. What are the general thoughts regarding router sims. I have looked at the demo for Boson's product, and I know that Sybex has one also. I thought the Syex CCNA vLab was very useful. Thanks for the help. -Bobby

What are the prevailing thoughts on Router Sims. I need something for CCNP practice and don't have resources for building a lab or or getting rack time elsewhere. I looked at the Boson sim. It looks pretty cool, but the demo doesn't allow config mode so you just look in the window. ---Thanks
