We know that 127.0.0.1 is for loopback.
If we need to assing a subnet mask for it, what the number should be.
for Class A, the noraml subnet mask is 255.0.0.0
for Class B, the normail subnet mask is 255.255.0.0.
127 is not belong to Class A and B.

In a LAN environment, most PCs use 10/100 NIC, just few PC only have 10
NIC, all other equipments can support 10/100 what is the network speed
of this LAN, should be 10 or 100?

Two NIC will work. You don't have to switch to NT WS. WIN98 can do that
too.
